Screenstar Previews "The Yellow Handkerchief"

Actress and goddess Kristen Stewart is ready to show her fans her acting range in the new indie film The Yellow Handkerchief. Spending the past two years as Bella Swan, Stewart is ready to play the troubled Southern teen that embarks upon a road trip with complete strangers. The indie flick is due out in February of 2010 and Stewart is already getting rave reviews for her work.

Kristen Stewart is wasting no time away from the limelight these days and her new film The Yellow Handkerchief has her playing Martine, the wanderlust troubled teen traveling through the South. Embarking on a round trip through post-Katrina Louisiana, Martine teams up with Gordy (Eddie Redmayne), May (Mara Bello) and the legendary William Hurt as Brett Hanson.

Stewart who is used to doting on Robert Pattinson will have the chance to step out from the Twilight shadow and display her raw talent. The Yellow Handkerchief explores the lives of strangers who have been thrust together on a remarkable road trip. Six time Academy Award winner Arthur Cohn produced the film and offered his opinions on Stewart's new role.

Cohn said, "The part of Kristen in Twilight is completely different from the one she plays in The Yellow Handkerchief, which is particularly interesting for Kristen's fans all over the world. In my personal opinion, from a pure acting point of view, The Yellow Handkerchief was a more difficult part to play."

The Yellow Handkerchief has spent the past two years playing the festival circuit all around the world. The film debuted at the Sundance Film Festival in January of 2008 and quickly became a festival favorite, playing in festivas in France, UAB, Hong Kong, Hungary, Japan, and Germany. The nationwide theatrical debut is set for 2010 and fans are anxiously awaiting the return of Kristen Stewart to the big screen.
